It is delightful and full of marvelous wit. Like most Victorian fiction, it is slow developing, but in the development of the story the eye of observer and commentator reigns supreme.
[As you can no doubt observe, my own writing style tends to be influenced, adversely or perversely or the reverse-ly, by what I'm currently reading. Don't know how I would write if I were to peruse a visual (cartooned) novel.] I highly recommend The Warden. Undertake the reading of it with a nice, well-brewed cup of tea, a scone or two, and plenty of leisure. I peeked ahead at the ending, and I assure you that it is most satisfactory. Back to Barsetshire and the story of the Warden. See you all later! Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
