The Virginia legislature is funding a study of problems they call 'increased flooding'. Republicans reluctantly agreed to acknowledge the damage as needing the state's attention for prevention and repair.

(Scientists say that sea levels along the state's coast have risen more than a foot and are still rising.)

However, regulations and laws may not refer to 'climate change' or 'rise in sea level', but only flooding.

Why?

To avoid using what they claim is a "left-wing term."
