It used to be a joke, but maybe now not so much. The record shattering high temperatures (around 110, up to 125) are making many people think maybe there is something we can do, must do, since human actions have exacerbated what may be a cyclical climate process.
Maybe there is something to this global warming warning after all, they ponder. And while the pundits ponder and preach and pontificate in their air conditioned offices and mansions, we swelter and sweat--and the weak and unwary and unlucky die (those poor children and pets left in locked cars). Yesterday I had deliveries from FedEx and UPS. Both men were drenched in sweat, especially the UPS driver (their vans have no doors). I gave each one a cold bottle of water. B showed me a weather map of the U.S. Nearly the entire continent, from coast to coast and on up into Canada is experiencing above normal temperatures, even the usually moderate coastal areas.
