This is a rant about authors' description of female characters having green eyes. In the last umpteen books I've read, sure enough, the female lead character has green or emerald eyes.

Supposedly green eyes indicate a mysterious, passionate nature. Fine. But when everybody's doing it, it becomes a cliche. And boringly predictable.

Furthermore, green is the rarest eye color.
