2012-11-03 8:09 AM Small Group Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (4) I'm not much of a joiner by nature, but I thought I'd try joining a Small Group as part of my Unitarian Universalist participation. It might be interesting, I thought, and I would get to know some people better, and they me.
Last night was our first meeting. The topic was "What was your spiritual path; how did you come to be a UU?" We all started from different places. One person was raised UU; another was Jewish; Christian Scientist; atheist. I myself was born into a Quaker family active in the Underground Railroad. But where you start from is only part of the tale.... Fascinating to listen to 7 other people's stories and to share my own. We're all 55+ in the group so we have long lives to look back and reflect upon. It's good to have a time of reflection and sharing with thoughtful, intelligent people. And such diverse backgrounds!
