2012-11-06 9:31 AM November 6, 2012 Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (4) It's election day and I'm taking a break from my poll watching. I'm so excited that there have been so many people voting, all ages and cultures represented. Quite a few people had their children with them.
Hispanic, Armenian, South Pacific Islander, African American, North African, Jewish--and a few WASPs. Quite a cross-section of the world, all American, all voting. Even the young baggy pants, torn tee-shirt tough guys taking it seriously. I wanted to shake the hand of every person who cast a ballot. Quite a few had worn Obama tee-shirts and had to cover them up (no electioneering within 100 feet of the polls). I could tell, because I could see a bit of the Dems' logo peeking out, or I would see a poll worker ask the person to zip the jacket or button the sweater over the shirt. No one had to wait more than 20 minutes, though that may change late in the afternoon when people get off work and want to vote. I'm going back after lunch to see how it's going and then again in the evening to observe the polls close. It's election day! BTW, the Redskins lost, which means our next president will be Romney.
