Today, at 5:00 in the freaking morning, I found myself up and dressed, in the rig, pulling into the parking lot of Home Depot, along with a long line of other insane people. On a mission to buy 6 dozen poinsettia plants for Emerson, we had not even stopped for coffee before heading out. I believe that this act has earned me a place in the pantheon of saints and sinners. On the way back, Starbucks was just opening for business, but we were cold and impatient for coffee. Not willing to wait in yet another line, I went home and brewed my own. One more major event today--taking N out to dinner--and I can, I hope, resume my normal life. At least tonight I won't have to clean up and do dishes afterward. During dinner, I will be feeding him, so I will be acting more as caregiver than being a wife or companion. And I won't eat myself until I get home. Feeding him isn't compatible with eating an enjoyable meal. Then there's Sunday, when I have double committed myself for the morning. Still haven't figured out how I'm going to clone myself so I can do both things. Looking forward to Monday, November 26. The return to the regularly scheduled program. Famous last words....
