The usual ones seem so quotidian: sunny, cool, breezy, green. There should be special words in English for a glorious day like this one.
Part of my irrational exuberance is due to the fact that I am finally in the healing stage of the flu. I still have the cough, I still have the laryngitis, but I can tell that my immune system is -- finally! -- winning the battle. And just in time, too, since I'm going to a band concert this evening. I'm always a bit fearful of going a long distance to a place I'm not familiar with, but a special friend of mine is in the band and I wouldn't miss it unless I were on a gurney being wheeled into the ER. What? Who, me? Exaggerate? Never in a million years! Still, though, friendship is no exaggeration and I'm delighted that I'm well enough to go.
