"The sun is just brightening the horizon, it's barely above freezing, and you want me to do what? Just get back under those nice warm covers, girl, and think this thing over." I lay there, reminding myself that sooner or later I was going to have to adjust to DST, and getting up half an hour earlier than my body was used to would ease the transition to an hour earlier, so do it and get it over with. Some times I'm so ridiculously self-disciplined, it is a shame. I could just wallow in bed and pretend the world doesn't exist--but I couldn't. Damn birds were awake and singing their little hearts out and the sun was blazing through the slats of the blinds--and--and-- And you know what? It's a beautiful day, my coffee cup is hot, and my heart is full. I'm grateful to be alive. Read/Post Comments (7) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
