Rode my motorcycle today for the first time in two months. Yee haw! It was kind of weird at first, feeling the weight of it under me, the shift from side to side. Then it was an issue of acuity, of alertness, as I navigated the 2 feet of roadway between the power company truck and the edge of the cliff on the way out of my cove. There is quite a bit of gravel left on most of the island's roads from the last few snowy or freezing days, and there wasn't one inch of road that was ready for a simple, hassle-free cruise.

I did some errands, and I took it slowly. The bike was ready to party, but they body needed to just ease on down the road.

Layla, my VLX 600, continues to be a trusty friend and a source of great joy. Here's to the 5,000 miles I will put on her this year! L'chaim!
