me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

This just in

We interrupt our reports from sunny beautiful Assisi where there was a procession in honor of San Ruffino I'll tell you about later (like how I snuck that in?) for this bulletin from the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association:

>>On behalf of the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association, I am delighted to tell you that BRONX NOIR, edited by S.J. Rozan, is the winner of the NAIBA Book of the Year Award in the Special Interest Category. The NAIBA Book Awards recognizes an author who was born or lived in our region, and/or a book whose story takes place in our region. There are five categories: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Picture Book, Children's Literature and Special Interest.

The Books of the Year Awards will be presented to the winners at the Awards Banquet on Sunday, Sept 21 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ.

The other books to win the honor this year include: The Patron Saint of Butterflies (Cecilia Galante); Zen Ties (Jon Muth); Mudbound (Hillary Jordan); and Year of Living Biblically (AJ Jacobs).<<

So congrats to all the writers who contributed stories to this book! An anthology winning an award -- how cool is this?
