River racing south
Choppy waves in hard current
Clear of thick, slow ice.
Seagulls argue, squawk,
Drive each other back from prize
None of them can lift.
Hard-charging wind roars,
Makes trees rustle, water hiss,
Gets steel bridge to sing.
