Three-star Lieutenant General Russell Honore, commander of Joint Task Force Katrina, deployed about 1,000 National Guard troops from a New Orleans street corner yesterday, CNN reported. The general has received praise from the administration's harshest critics over handling of the New Orleans situation, including the city's mayor Ray Nagin. "He came off the doggone chopper, and he started cussing, and people started moving," Nagin said Sept. 1 in a local radio interview cited by CNN.
