It's not quite 6 AM. I woke up about an hour ago--or rather about an hour ago I gave up trying to get back to sleep. I can always take a nap.
On my "agenda" for today: shower and wash my hair when the pet-sitter arrives. I'm not particularly concerned about my shower safety, but it's just sort of an extra precaution to have someone in the house to call 911 if I should slip. That will no doubt be the high point of the day. I'm beginning to feel really trapped and stir-crazy. The kids are each about 25 miles away and have their own families and jobs. (The kids are the sum total of my family. My husband and I were both "onlies.") My list of need-to-do stuff is getting longer and longer. I think tops is a visit to DMV to get the handicapped (temporary) card so I can park a reasonable distance from store doorways. If I'm going to DMV then I should go to the bank first and get out the title to the Jimmy so I can sign it over to YD. You get the idea? Of course, both those tasks have to wait till Tuesday. And I want my car back. The only other (than the shower) bright spot for today is the probability that there will be a Sunday paper out in the paper tube. And I can look forward to a visit from Honorary Son and his spouse later this week. They are perfect guests--they accept things as they are and can open up the futon themselves. They know where I keep the emergency key to the house and what the refrigerator rules are. (Which reminds me that I also need to get some more food.)
