2006-03-15 6:21 PM A Between Day Read/Post Comments (3) |
What do I mean by a "between day?" Well, for the first time in a while it's a day between two days in which I have a most-of-the-day activity outside the house. It means that things that need doing more or less now can't be put off. Having the women's center thing is a fantastic hindrance to procrastination!
The other day I noticed that the nearby PJ's coffee shop was open again--finally! And today I stopped there to do serious reading. It's got just the right "ambience" for that kind of thing and I am so glad it's open again. I went to the back room--aka "study room"--and settled down at a table by myself, with my feet propped on a chair. For most of the time there was noone else there, although the parking lot showed fairly good customer activity, and I got a satisfactory amount of work done. I imagine that it will be a week or so before the "regulars"--or those that are still around here--start returning. I guessed wrong about the azalea bloom this spring. I thought it would be sparse, but mine are looking absolutely fantastic. The bushes seem a bit skimpy on leaves, but the nascent buds didn't get blown off by Katrina. They're in just about full bloom now and the driveway is a row of color on one side. In fact, one little bush that may have put forth one or two blossoms in past years is covered with them this year. And my wisteria is also blooming heartily. Maybe the deep soaking they got last August helped? Who cares--they're gorgeous. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
