Since this wasn't a work day (for me) I puttered around the house this morning, doing some tidying up, not to mention laundry. (When your only clean undies are in the dryer, it's time to empty it, then fill it up again.)

I went out for lunch around 1 PM, and when I got to Arby's they looked at me in surprise and wondered why I wasn't wearing black and gold.

When I listened to the news last night I found it interesting that most of the students in Catholic schools would be able to wear black and gold today, rather than their uniforms. And I sort of got the notion that the public schools wouldn't have hissy fits about black and gold today either.

But this morning I forgot about that, and wore something sort of rose-colored. At least I didn't wear green! I probably would hve been refused service if I'd showed up in Philadelphia colors.

To say this area is excited is to say Katrina was an afternoon drizzle.

People getting married tomorrow are adding "huge screen TV" to their list of reception needs.

Tickets in the nosebleed section are going for well over $100 each. Unless, of course, you find a scalper who will sell them at cost, as long as you buy a jersey for several hundred dollars.

YD and I had a brief conference about the time to leave for the game, and I think we're all set. In case you're watching the game, and in case they pan the crowd where we sit, I'm on the aisle seat wearing a gold corduroy blazer and (probably) a gold and white t-shirt. (Also slacks, but they won't show.) The last time the Saints had a playoff game at home they did catch a picture of me in the crowd. In the same blazer, which I had made especially for that game.

Philadelphia fans have been arriving all week. They don't all have tickets, but they are happily spending money--and tourism is a major source of income here.

And some (many?) are giving a day to gutting and/or building houses.

If I don't post tomorrow it's because we got tied up in traffic coming home.

Think black and gold.
