I plan to watch the Superbowl this late afternoon/evening, so there goes my usual surfing time.

I need to go to Best Buy (probably) to buy a new monitor--mine has deteriorated to the point where it has to be whacked to have the screen work. And that's hard on hands. Best beloved daughter said she'd set it up for me tomorrow after work, since it involves crawling around on the floor under the card table. I can handle the crawling part--it's the getting back up that presents the challenge.

So far today has been most ordinary. Did my usual Sunday grocery shopping, at the usual place. The big dispaly near the front was white and blue football jerseys, with 18 on the front, and on the back it said "Colts" and "Manning". My best guess would be that most of New Orleans is rooting for the Colts to beat the Bears.

Not only did the Bears beat the Saints in the conference championship, but many of the Bears fans got downright ugly to the visitors at that game. And they made disparaging remarks re: Katrina and New Orleans. That's hitting below the belt. Wonder if they'd have made similar comments to visiting New Yorkers after 9/11.

Thus--the sale of Colts shirts with the quarteback (#18) who grew up in New Orleans and whose father quarterbacked the Saints.

There's a parade in town this afternoon, but fortunately I am between the parade route and the area with stores that sell monitors. PJ's and Arby's are out of the question on parade days, as is Walgreen's.

The weather this morning was on the brisk side. It was okay as I made the dash from the parking lot to WalMart, but when I had to stand there while the gas pumped into my tank I got somewhat chilly. I should have put a t-shirt under the cotton sweater. Or brought a jacket.

And now to get the monitor.
