Yep--I've got to stretch for something today.

Weather-wise, it was great--pleasant, mostly sunny, and in the 60s or low 70s. Fahrenheit. (Those temps would be incredibly uncomfortable in Celsius.)

I had no traffic problems either heading in or heading home. The fruit man was parked by the road today so I stopped and got a big bag of navel oranges.

As I got to the last stop sign before my driveway I spotted a major blockage in the road. A ditch-cleaning machine and a dump truck to receive the diggings. I peered down the road, decided that my driveway wasn't blocked and headed towards home for that last half block all the way over to the left. I chatted with the digging guy for a bit, pointing out my azalea and where I think there was a crepe myrtle. If he did clip the crepe myrtle I'm sure it will grow back. Unfortunately, he wasn't allowed to clear those telephone etc. wires that have been in the ditch about a year and a half. But---they're not blocking the flow of the water to any significant degree so I have no idea when they might get picked up. Clearing ditches of tree and other "natural" debris takes precedence.

Little by little things get done.

Slidell City Hall is still a bunch of trailers in a municipal parking lot. I think the police station is there too now.

When I finally did get home I found two of BadCat's friends hanging around--the orange tom and a long-haired black cat. The orange one sat on the front steps and watched my gang eat on the front porch. He and CC had a bit of a (pleasant) conversation.

As I said, an Incredibly Unremarkable Day.
