Decided to stay home today so that I stand a better chance of having the stuff I need at work. Besides, the weather forecast no longer says rain for Friday.
I finished off Malpractice in Maggody last evening, and started on Stephanie Plum's "12" novel. (It was one of the seven I got when I started Mystery Book Club.) It is not demanding reading, and I finished it about lunch time. I took both books with me (tagged for Bookcrossings) when I went to PJ's and both were gone by the time I left. Meanwhile, I was reading Plows, Plagues, and Petroleum, a very interesting book about global warming etc. The author is a climatologist and writes in a highly accessible manner. The little stumpy cat came by this afternoon and finally allowed me to gently scritch its head. I wasn't able to determine if it is also a tom--it's a bit harder with semi-longhaired cats that (so far) tolerate only a bit of head petting. The yellow tom has decided I'm okay, especially since I leave some dry food out for BadCat on my work days. (The squirrels also eat cat food.) This evening will be starting another of the new mysteries that came yesterday, or reading more about climate, or going over the Mystery Club catalog to see if I need any of those. (My commitment was for only two more books in the next year.) Or possible just vegging out watching mindless TV while I do Cross Sums puzzles.
