That sounds like it might translate as "no earthquakes," which is true.
Californians will say "of course," but there is a fault line (or two or three) running through the area. I think it's part of the New Madrid fault. And, you can see evidence of that fault line in the 79 year old five-mile bridge I take across Lake Pontchartrain every time I go into New Orleans. Near the northern shore there is a noticeable dip (or rise, depending on which direction you're heading) and then another one, not as noticeable, near the south shore. Years ago I read an excellent piece of fiction with a plot revolving around an East Coast earthquake. Title is Earthsound, by Arthur Herzog. Now that I've recalled it I think I might re-read it. It has a 1975 copyright date, so it's been a few years (to put it mildly) since I last read it. (But I remembered which room it was in, which shelf it was on--and approximate shelf location!) Vast projects for today? None--you shouldn't start vast projects with half-vast ideas. I haven't seen Leo for a couple of days. He must have heard me talking about cutting off his you-know-whats.
