Rain was forecast for today, and it was raining a bit when I left. But the clouds were moving east and I was going west so that by the time I got close to New Orleans I no longer needed my wipers. (Except for when I was behind a large truck, and its big old tires kicked up street wetness.)

Well, I found out what happened to Leo. Someone down the road caught him in a humane trap and took him for the almost-free feral spay/neuter program. But he tested positive for feline leukemia. That's too bad--he was a nice cat.

She hasn't seen the other cats that have been around my house--she thinks they come out of the woods, and she lives on the other side of the road.

Not much new at work--except I got pointed out by someone giving a "tour" to a group from Connecticut. The person taking them around was saying "that's the library . . . " and she spotted me eating lunch in the lobby and pointed to me and said "that's Sue--she's a volunteer working with the archives. She's a historian whose job disappeared with Katrina."

It's spring time, and college kids are taking a working break here for the third year. There's still clean-up, but there is also construction. Habitat for Humanity is doing a lot of building and rebuilding.

I don't think I have to worry about rain tomorrow. I hope not.
