(I remember that one without having to dig out my old Langenscheidt. I probably should have used French, because I can't remember what Thursday is in French, while I can recall it in German. And if I'd titled it Mercredi today then I'd still have a rememberable title for tomorrow.)

The big news is that I didn't get rained on. I drove in before the rain started this morning, and it stopped before I headed home. Tomorrow has rain in the forecast also, so we'll see how my luck holds there.

I continued with Paulette and her papers and managed to get the preliminary inventory completed on a second carton. Then I checked out some of the other boxes and found at least four for another client--currently one of our U.S. Senators. She's been using this firm since her first run for the Louisiana legislature, followed by her election as state Treasurer.

Lady must recognize the sound of my car, because she is almost always right up front to greet me as I come home after all day. It's beside the point that my arrival means "dinner" in about ten minutes--she could wait anxiously by the door for that.

Yesterday evening I kept hearing the toilet adding water. I figured that the flapper thing might be a bit old and slowly leaking. When I went to check on it, I found a VERY wet floor. The flapper seemed to be seated just fine. Then I checked the intake line, and I think the valve there is the culprit. I closed it and the sound of running water halted. About half my towels were needed to soak up the leak. Luckily, that's not the only "facility" in the house, and for now I'm using the half bath for that stuff. I'll see if I can scare up a plumber tomorrow. I can wait till Monday or so rather than pay a premium for a weekend.

Never a dull moment.
