Yes, today's primary activity was the Visit from the Vet. About 10 they called to say they were on their way from the other side of town.

So, I began the cat roundup. Surprisingly enough, I caught the two girls fairly easily and got them into their crates. CC meowed very loudly and insistently. She definitely has some Siamese (or similar) in her. Lady was easier, and not quite as noisy. I though that Fabian was happily under a chair in the den, but when I followed the girls out to the vet's mobile office, he apparently decided that he needed a better hiding place.

When the vet finished with the girls we brought them back inside and I went hunting for Fabian. He was in his cubbyhole under a closet/drawers. That was not too smart of him, because he can't sneak out of there, and my arms are plenty long enough to get hold of one of his body parts. I got him out fairly easily and the vet grabbed him and took him out to his "office."

The vet made no comment about my getting down on my belly (with all my aching body parts) then managing to get back up again. (He scored lots of positive points for that.)

The bill was gasp! But it works out to less than $20/month for the whole pride of three. And it's only once a year. (It also included a pedicure for all 18 of Fabian's toenails.) I suspect there are plenty of people who spend that on video rentals--and those don't cuddle up to you and give you adoring looks.

Fabian gained weight, but only about a pound. He weighs just under 22 pounds. The girls' combined weight is less than that.

That took up my morning.

I had a bit of emergency banking to do, then ate at Arby's and spent the rest of the afternoon at PJ's reading. When I checked my mail I found the latest Analog. Guess what I'm doing tonight.
