Last night he managed to get the bungee cord unhooked. And he did it without making huge amounts of noise. Let's just say the level of dry cat food out there is going down.

Very very clever. I hope this is a he--I don't want to think about where a she might settle in.

A vet we once used told us about the possum that got into his office attic, where they stored the food. They didn't realize he was there until they found the dry food supply waaay down and a very fat possum rolling around.

Other than that, an ordinary day.

Tulane's graduation is this Saturday. The campus is fairly devoid of kids, but they've been replaced by parents and alums.

The only "business" at the library today was a faculty member (I had a couple of classes with her) who was busy using some of the files to research a paper for some convention/meeting. My colleague from Xavier was also there, but she's a Visiting Scholar and is there quite regularly. Now that the Xavier semester is over she is able to put full time into her book.

There wasn't even the threat of rain today, and the humidity was delightfully low. The campus has been thoroughly "groomed" for the upcoming occasion--blooming hydrangeas have been planted in front of our building and all the grass has been mowed. It would be nice if they had repaired the streets, but I guess that's too much to hope for.

However, next week they start repairing the roof of our building. There will be lots of dust and dirt, so I'll be moving my work upstairs.

I've worked my three days this week, so I'll get a head start on the weekend. My car needs washing and there won't be a long wait on a weekday, so that's at the top of my tomorrow list.

Not bad, for an IUD.
