When I fed the cats I saw my porch thermometer saying it was about 92.

But now that the sun has set it's cooling down nicely. And maybe we'll have rain tonight. That will lower the temperature and raise the humidity. End result: it won't do much to the heat index.

By way of BookCrossings I learned that Tess Gerritson's Gravity stayed on the shelf at PJ's fifteen minutes at most. I wish more people would post when they find a book. One of the books I released made a stop in S. Africa!

I'm now reading Gerritson's Harvest. I haven't gotten very far, but the weekend is ahead.

The door to the cupboard under the bathroom sink was open. There was an orange and white striped tail hanging out. I wouldn't think a cupboard would be particularly comfortable in warm weather. At the moment, the entire orange and white body is lying in the (empty) bathtub. Now that makes more sense--the porcelain is probably nice and cool.

I'm glad that Ms. Rich B--(it rhymes) got sent back to the slammer. Maybe she'll learn that even rich people have to obey SOME rules--especially those that concern the public safety.

My gardenias have absolutely erupted into a massive bloom. I'm not sure if they bloomed at all last year. And they weren't too good before Katrina, because they'd gotten weak from some sucking bugs and I ended up cutting them all back. My neighbor looks at them enviously, and then her husband reminds her that they've been in the ground for years--just like my azaleas.

This week it's a two day weekend. I should get more done because I have fewer days to procrastiinate to.
