Today started out more than a little hot and humid. About 8 AM it was 84 (felt like 94) in New Orleans, and in Rochester NY it was 81, felt like 60, according to Intellicast.

I am REALLY looking forward to my trip in just eleven more days.

However, about noon the skies began to empty out. Yes, that lowered the temperature, but the humidity skyrocketed. I did my OPAC thing, and settled in at PJ's with an iced coffee (decaf, easy ice, skim milk), a cappuccino chocolate chip muffin, and a book. This one is by the same authors as Relic and has the same intrepid investigator. It's also set in the Museum of Natural History in NYC, but most of the rest of the characters are new.

It is every bit as suspenseful as the other one.

No sooner had I settled in at PJ's than the skies REALLY let loose. Almost nobody came in during the downpour, but then nobody left either.

I got a lot of reading done, and I plan to continue this evening.

Tomorrow will be a work day so I don't want to stay up too late reading. My goal is to leave the house by 7:45 at the latest. But, as I said, this book gets its hooks into you really quickly.

I just hope it doesn't rain tomorrow during my commuting drives.
