2007-09-04 6:38 PM It's Purple Today Read/Post Comments (4) |
My thumb, that is. Not a pretty purple, one that looks like it's been rubbing against newsprint.
Luckily, it is not particularly uncomfortable. I wonder what the success/failure rate with plants is when one has a purple thumb. I spent the day getting little junk done (like laundry) and then went to PJ's to grade the vocab quizzes and maps that had been turned in. Some kids manage to make it to college without understanding that, with a black and white map, the dotty areas are usually water and the clear areas land. Or the other way around. But since their reference map is in color, they should figure this out. Guess I'll have to do general "reminders" tomorrow. To be fair, most of the kids did just fine, even figuring out that Lower Egypt was higher on the page than Upper Egypt. (Tomorrow I'll also see if they know why.) It began to rain just a few minutes after I got to PJ's and it was still drizzling a bit when I left. That has really cooled things off. Fabian--the 21 lb. monster, Does Not Like noisy weather. His solution is to either go under the couch, or to curl up tight against his human. I didn't get the handicapped tag request back yet--my doctor was on vacation last week. I shall cross fingers (includiing my purple thumb, if I can) that I find an on-campus near-enough parking spot tomorrow. If not, they understand. And now it's back to watching (stupid) TV and reading Working for the Devil - A Dante Valentine Novel, by Lilith Saintcrow. (Gee, I wonder if that's a pen name!) I've read a couple of chapters, and it is definitely different. Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
