Today I had an exam on the schedule. A study guide was posted.
There are about 30 students in my class. Fifteen showed up for the exam. Tomorrow and Friday are "midterm break." I am not happy. And those who "didn't feel like it" are going to be REALLY upset when I don't allow them to make it up right away. I already told them that I am (very) part time and not around the campus all that much. My policy has long been to have an exam make-up day before Thanksgiving. I schedule it for 6:30 AM so nobody can claim "conflict." I'm sure you can imagine the reactions. And I already mentioned this back near the start of the semester when nobody was paying attention. I WILL refrain from putting in a zero grade for the as-yet-untaken exam on their midterm report. Okay--here are the bonus questions. Which is NOT a country? France, Estonia, Europe, Latvia, Ukraine? Same question: Rwanda, Pakistan, Nepal, India, Africa, Iceland? And finally: How many animals of each sex did Moses take on the Ark? I've got the multiple choice part of the exams graded. Next comes the hard part--the essay answers. But--a check of my bank account tells me what it is worth. I am still in the computer and my bank has recorded a deposit. I sort of figured that would be the case. My computer at work still has all my bookmarks and settings, my keys still fit the doors they're supposed to, and my office has all its decorations. And I still have a mailbox up in the front office. I will definitely have all my gradng caught up by class on Monday. It's sort of a necessity--I have to turn in midterm grades by the 16th. I hope I can remember how to do this from home. I've got various notes with passwords taped to the wall, but I'm not sure which is which. Last night the raccoons didn't come till early morning--about when I got up. There were two of them, different sizes. I'm assuming the bigger one is male and the other female. I said "good morning" to them from the window. They looked up, but didn't run away. They just scooped out another dog biscuit each and then nibbled daintily on them. Tulane/Newcomb do NOT have a mini-break tomorrow, so I will be going in there. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
