Missing work Monday and Tuesday makes for a short work week.

I saw the NP again today. I don't think she liked my still-red face, but this time she could see in my ear. And I assured her that my temp was back to what's "normal" for me. (You do basal temperature monitoring for years for potential fertility prediction, and you know that your "normal" is not necessarily 98.6.)

However, based on the still-red side of the face, she wrote out an antibiotic prescription. The last time I took this particular drug was during the Elvis episode.

I'm glad I feel generally well, however, although this makes a good excuse for an afternoon nap when I'm at home.

This morning a student came by to make up a vocab quiz. If not for that, I would have completed ALL the grading. But, as of about 5:30 PM I can say that all of the back grading is done and in the gradebook. The bad news is that the students turned in paperlets (150 - 300 words) today. Well, that's a good excuse to hang out at PJ's. I think (hope) I said late papers will not be accepted. And I told the secretary they weren't to leave them in my mailbox, but to e-mail them to me as attachments.

I got back to Slidell with time to spare before the appointment, so I stopped at a newly rebuilt nearby McDonald's. Judging by the staffing, the Senior Center attendance has probably dropped. (I should talk--I'm out working too.) The women at the counter were quite efficient.

This new style McD has wi-fi. It also has a "cozier" floor plan, more amenable to longer-term patrons. Oh yes--and it has a double drive-through system. I first noticed that with a McD on my "route" in New Orleans.

And so, after a three-day work week, it's time for the weekend. And the usual jobs await me--basically the same ones that always await me.
