The forecast last night said Rain. The forecast this morning said Rain. And the weather radar showed a BIG bunch of it heading eastward. It's here now, and arrived when I was grading stuff at PJ's.
I keep three or four umbrellas of varying size and condition in the car, so I took one in with me. Good thing, because it was definitely raining when I left. Last night I heard the raccoons come for supper, turned on the patio light, and we had a staring contest. Then they turned to the business of eating. They walk along so daintily, pick up the dog biscuit with their front paws, and eat it quite efficiently. Then they go back for the next one . . . and the next and the next. Nothing was left of the dog biscuits this morning, and when I came home from PJ's I "reloaded" the ice chest. The Saints managed to win rather convincingly this afternoon! Let's hope they're out of their slump. It's a late afternoon home game next week. Tomorrow I get my (car's) power steering fixed (I hope) as well as getting a new timing belt. I expect it will done tomorrow, but if it isn't I can take Tuesday off from Newcomb. Oh--and this past weekend was the Bayou Classic. This is an annual football game between the two traditionally African-American state universities in Louisiana. The city had no trouble handling the roughly 150,000+ visitors. (Did you hear that: Committee to Choose Cities for pre-Presidential Debates? And you passed up New Orleans for the huge metropolis of Oxford Mississippi, which doesn't have enough hotel rooms in the city itself!) Enough ranting--time to have a bite of supper.
