I can't help ut notice that my reading lists have not been updated for quite a while. It's not for lack of reading, but for remembering to note when I finish various books.

I still haven't sent out the holiday cards I bought about three years ago. Probably those few people with whom I correspond only at holidays figure I've kicked the bucket and/or gone totally senile.

On the other hand, I AM ready for tomorrow's final--except for modifying and printing the Sub-Saharan Africa portion. (That was the final unit.)

Oh yeah--and four paperlets left to grade.

I wonder how many kids will show up--the last exam I gave had a low turnout. Oh well--maybe two semesters of the same course will give them enough temporarily-stored information to finally pass it. (The course I teach is required for graduation for everyone except Pharmacy students.)

I did make a lot of progress with the archives today. I had to go upstairs to get more acid-free folders and I chatted a few minutes with the archivist. I got file numbers that I needed, then told her a few things that needed to be added to the next purchase order--things like folders and paper (both acid-free) in legal size.

Last night I stayed up to watch the Saints/Falcons game. It was worth staying up for--the Saints absolutely clobbered Atlanta. Of course, their quarterback got sentenced to 23 months of jail time yesterday, so they were having to readjust somewhat. (He was involved in illegal dogfighting and a bunch of other related stuff.) So the Saints are still alive and still have a chance to get into the playoffs.

I'm giving the tickets to this Sunday's home game to the department secretary. She is really nice, and got hit badly by Katrina. She was in Atlanta for a couple of months (with a daughter or sister) working at WalMart. She came back to N.O. when she found a place to rent. Her house was flooded badly and had to be gutted down to the studs. These things can't be fixed overnight.

And now I must get back to the exams for tomorrow. At least I don't have the exam at 8 AM--it's at 10:30. That way I shouldn't have any of the fog that I had this morning.
