A pretty ordinary day--I slept poorly last night, but made up for it by sleeping late this morning. No problem--I hadn't planned to go in to work anyway. Tonight, however, I'll be sure the alarm is set. Tulane students returned to classes today, so that means I need to get there nice and early for primo parking.

I did stuff around the house in the morning, then went to Arby's for lunch. I rationalized that by my need to gas up the car, and a cheap gas station is between Arby's and home.

However, I didn't go directly home, but stopped at PJ's where I had a leisurely coffee and got some geek reading done. Overall, it was a productive afternoon.

Louisiana now has a new governor--the youngest in the country. I hope he is able to use his not-inconsiderable management skills to move Louisiana ahead.

And now comes the competition for his former Congressional seat. I already know a couple of the candidates who won't get my vote--I hope somebody runs that I like and feel will represent me and my views.

We should soon be seeing some of the presidential candidates--Louisiana has joined the many states with a primary the first Tuesday in February.

The rest of this evening I shall spend with mindless TV in the background while I read the new Patricia Cornwell book.
