The watermelon rind chunks I put out last night are (mostly) still there! Of course, it was raining hard last night, so maybe the raccons wanted something more filling.

I had a productive day at work. I told the archivist that I really would like it if I could get some legal-size archival file folders. She has one of the student workers busily trying to inventory what we do and don't have, and when I was eating lunch one of them appeared with an armload of archival folders! Most of them had been used, but it's practically automatic to recycle whenever possible, so I just turned them inside out and erased previous titles that were in pencil. I ended up with 100, which should take care of things for a while. I fixed a box for them and stored them on my cart.

Tomorrow I'll try to finish up the copying of the scrapbooks. I looked at the last one this afternoon and discovered that absolutely nothing is still stuck to the pages. Scotch tape ages poorly, and that's what was used. I'll talk to the archivist tomorrow and see what she recommends. Probably making copies of the cards and the insides . . .

I finished Kyra, by Carol Gilligan. I highly recommend it. It's a bit deep, but it's about developing new relationships between people who are artistic (architect and opera director) and who have both lost spouses to violence. It's a fairly complex plot, but it will leave you thinking.

Now I have to decide whether my next book will be a geek book or mind candy--or whatever category Kyra fell into. It will probably be mind candy. Or maybe not.

On my home today I did what I wanted to do yesterday--except the power was off there. I got a Popeye's shrimp poorboy. Oh yum!!

Time now to check on how much food the masked ones have eaten, and whether I can entice Emma into the house. She now comes running to greet me--along with Lady--when I get home from work. I know, it's cupboard love, but it's cute.
