Making progress on the (relatively) small collection all about beauty contests. And women's issues. I just have to make some modifications to the inventory list. There's also a flat box to be packed tomorrow, and then I'll be done with Harriet.

I also finished up Cynthia, except for getting a videotape to the archivist.

An e-mail from her (the archivist) suggested that she had several more small collections waiting for me.

During my lunch break I found a couple of citations in the geek book I was reading that I wanted to follow through on. One of the books is in the collection, so I checked it out. And a journal article got copied.

The drive home took a while. At a busy point on the interstate a truck managed to lose its trailer, which then blocked two out of three lanes. Well--that's the way it goes. I got all my fingernails filed down during the stop and slow progress. That coordinates better with the driving requirements than trying to read.

The people on the road are usually very patient and take turns moving into a functioning lane. Of course, once past the blockage the road speed gets really ramped up. Hey--the cops are all still working the accident .

Tomorrow is the end of the week already. Gee, it goes by quickly when you work only two days.

Lady was sitting very primly on the driveway gate (which I generally leave open) so she could see me as soon as I got home--and tell me how she was neglected and starving.

CC also appeared with the same message. It's cute the way Lady looks for me. I guess her stomach is her clock.

The spillway into Lake Ponchartrain has been completely closed. Now to see what all that fresh water did to the lake ecology and fishing.

I think Louisiana is finally done with elections for a little while. We now have a new Representative who is filling the seat vacated by our new governor--elected a few months ago.

In November that seat will, of course, be up for grabs again. One of our U.S Senators apparently was "friends" with a D.C. madam. That's the holier-than-thou from the party whose first initial is not D. I'm not sure if he's up for reelection this year, but I think our former Lieutenant Governor is. (One of her brothers is now Lieutenant Governor.)

I am so "campaigned out" it isn't funny. If I wasn't already friends with a couple of the poll commissioners for my precinct I would be now, after all the recent elections.

Enough. I need to relax just a teeny bit, then go to bed.
