But not like yesterday.

It was nice enough to rain only in the morning, and merely threaten in the afternoon.

The morning rain pretty much took care of any yard work plans. Unfortunately, it also brought about seemingly overnight growth spurts in weedy things.

I spent a large part of the afternoon at PJ's reading From Dead to Worse--another Sookie Stackhouse novel. Their great big leather chair is soooo comfy when sat in sideways, with the legs elevated.

And I finished the book, almost in one sitting.

My next mind candy will be Seven for a Secret. It was in today's mail.

I'm hoping tomorrow will not have rain. The weather-guessers seem to think that will be the case.

Hard to believe that May is halfway over. Time does seem to fly.

CC seems to have forgiven me for even thinking about the vet. She is back to being in and out of the house. Of course, the rain may have had something to do with that . . .

This is the first time since Katrina that the University of New Orleans Lakefront Arena has been open. They are hosting 19 graduations this month. If I remember rightly, it has a seating capacity of about 10,000.

Last spring UNO graduations were in the old Health and P.E. Center--which has a very limited capacity. Each separate school of the university had a separate graduation.

OD graduated from UNO in the old building. She had an August graduation because of scheduling of required classes. With that extra semester she managed to put together two degrees--B.S in Biology and B.A., in Chemistry.

By the time I graduated the Arena had been completed.

I'm glad I decided to take the whole week off--the weather would have had the same effect, but this way I could plan somewhat.

If I'd gone in today I would probably still be caught in homecoming traffic. The 5 PM news reported an accident on the eastbound I-10 twin spans. Translation: the alternative routes are each one lane each way roads. And one of them is more than a bit out of the way.

Okay--enough trivia for the day.
