It was a work day, and I got there right about 1730. Since the weather-guessers on the morning show had said there might be rain, I made sure I was on one of the higher spots in front of my building.

Once again, I got quite a bit done on the processing. I was doing the Class of '58 folder and ran across the name of a friend from a while ago. I should really give her a buzz and a hello--she lives just two towns up the road.

I met her via Slidell Little Theatre. She had somewhere between seven and nine children. At one point she was elected to--and served on--the parish school board. And she and another female member (who was also peripherally involved with SLT) got together when I went before the school board about giving high school credit for concurrent enrollment college classes. They had that topic of the meeting under total control. At one point the principal said they DID give credit--and I turned to him and commented that it was evidently a big secret from everybody, because neither of my daughters had gotten it.

Those flood scenes from Iowa etc. are uncomfortably reminiscent of three years ago around here.

Well, the melt from the polar ice caps has to go somewhere.

When I got home from work today Lady was guarding the driveway from the top (5' high) rail of the fence. I wonder if that was because a dog had just passed the yard as it was taking its human for a walk.

An ordinary day.
