Yes, another big semi flipped coming off the I-10 bridge. At least this one didn't have hazardous material in it, and the eastbound side was closed for only a couple of hours. (It's the westbound side that has all the inbound commuting traffic.)

I very seldom take that route home, but the last time I did I was extra cautious as I came off the bridge and onto temporary routes.

Of course, it was full daylight and I had not been driving all night long, like the truck drivers probably were.

Today has been a non-regular one. I had to get to the medical lab fairly early to give them some red fluids that hadn't been polluted by eating for 12 hours. Several of us in the waiting room planned that our first stop after leaving would be Mickey.

Once I'd finished a hearty breakfast (which also sufficed as lunch) I stopped PJ's for an iced coffee to kill the time till a prescription was ready at the Walgreen's nearby. I'd started a new book at Mickey and wanted to read more. It's Get Out or Die and is by Jane Finnis. It takes place in Romanized Britain and is looking quite promising. The protagonist is a young woman who runs an inn.

My final stop was at the auto repair shop where I arranged to get my power steering pump taken care of Thursday.

So I'll go in to work tomorrow, have the car work done Thursday, then see what happens Friday. By then I'll probably be feeling enough guilt about my weedy yard that I'll get to work on it early in the morning. (On the other hand, if I'm lucky it will rain.)

The first caladiums that I planted have all come up and are looking really nice. I planted some others a bit later, but they haven't come up yet. The tall bush called Star of Texas (that has leaves that look like marijuana) is blooming. It has lots of red flowers that look like hibiscus.

The last time I used the weed whacker it went dead in what seemed like a short time. I'm hoping it was just out of charge. I'll find out soon.

A look at the clock suggests that there may be some hungry felines around here somewhere. With my work schedule they get used to eating a bit later in the afternoon, but they never refuse early food.

Let's hope word gets out among the truckers about the construction exit on I-10.
