I went in to work today, and put in a full day, but now I can hardly drag myself around. I wonder how long I'll make it this evening, and if I'll wake up at 3 AM or so with the lights still on.

I made a lot of progress with the collection, and am now writing up the inventory list for each carton. I got four (out of five) done and am about halfway through the last. I can type up the first four lists at home over the weekend. The archivist e-mailed me the collection numbers.

About noon I headed over to the next building for a talk. It was about politics and the women involved in the recent campaigns. And it was extremely interesting. The speaker was a lawyer (and Newcomb graduate, of course) whose principal work is with women victims of domestic violence.

Some time next week there's going to be a big reception at the Center to officially "open" the art project that has about consumed the library. It's about heritage--and archives. It's an early evening thing, and even though I received an invitation I don't think I'll go--I really am not too keen about driving home at night.

When I got home this evening I was greeted by three cats wanting dinner IMMEDIATELY. Lady and CC were inside, in the kitchen, and Tom (the neighbor on the other side's cat) was sitting on the porch adding his voice to the chorus. Excuse me, but when you don't live here you have no rights to make food demands. And the girls let him get away with it. Pogo is much more polite.

I am definitely enjoying the cooler, vastly less humid weather and plan on taking advantae of it tomorrow for some more yard work.

Unless, of course, it rains.
