I didn't realize that the stickery triangular weed seeds could stick to cat hair. I figured it was too slick.
I was wrong. CC just came in, rubbed against me, and left behind about a dozen seeds. Then I petted her and found a bunch more. Since I don't happen to have an old hairbrush or comb in my office room, I picked out the rest by hand. And then I picked a bunch off the blanket on the double papsan. And some more off the floor. Next time I'm at a store I'll get another cheap hairbrush and keep it handy in here. Went in to work today, even though showers were predicted for the afternoon. I checked the weather radar a couple of times, and when I had a) completely finished up the collection I've been working on for several weeks, b) done a quick check on a small one I've been given, and c) noticed the rapidly darkening sky--then I gave the radar a final check, tidied up my work space, and left for home. I got rained on a little between the building and my car, but I made it into the car before I got anything beyond slightly damp. By the time I'd gotten home I'd outdriven the rain. However, the radar map looks like the bulk of the rain is yet to come. I don't think I'll be going in to work tomorrow--rain is definitely in the weather picture. Because it's a bit warmer (at the moment) I have the door to the porch open about 8". And a really huge possum came in to snack. It must be at least twice Pogo's size. (Pogo is currently filling up on the cat food.) I've seen this one outside, and inside one other time. I'm wondering if it's male or female, but the only way I'll know for sure is if I see it next spring with a bunch of little possums riding on its back, hanging onto Mommy's tail. This one is about the size of the adult raccoons--maybe a little larger. So--another Incredibly Unremarkable Day has gone by, unless you count the feline seed-spreader as unusual. Now to watch TV and read. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
