How many of you remember this?

Forty years ago--before many of you were born.

We were at the Cape then--husband working on the engine systems. We watched the launch, of course. We could see the rockets rise --once they got above the surrounding homes--from our front porch.

Back to today and earth.

I managed to get little stuff purchased. Now there's the wrapping to do.

I was at Big Lots looking for something for the step-grands and saw a man trying to figure out how to get something from the top shelf. I offered him my cane, which worked just fine. (I've used it for the same thing several times.) Then we got chatting and I got all sorts of ideas for the s-grands. He and his wife were able to tell me what kids that age could do.

I have yet to wrap the stuff. I do hope this shindig tomorrow doesn't start early. I need the time to get all this together.

I'm sure I've overlooked somebody.

Have I mentioned that I hate Christmas?

I was at the computer this morning and CC decided to be friendly. She ended up spending the day napping on the computer table, behind the monitor, with her head on the modem.

Nutty cat, but I'm sure by cat standards that was a highly satisfactory napping location.

This evening when I went to put the wet cat food down on the porch I saw TWO cats waiting for "their" turn. TomTom was one, and I have no idea who the other one is. Both girls ate their dinner on the counter this evening. Lady--who usually eats on the porch--was quite happy with that arrangement.

I have not yet put out the food for the wild critters.
