It was raining when I got up, but had stopped by the time I left for church. And the rest of today has been really lovely.
About the only outdoor thing I accomplished, however, was to dump about two weeks' worth of newpapers in the turtle pond. There were three turtles of assorted sizes relaxing on the steps when I got there. I have no idea how many there might be, but they seem to like it there. I think I'll wait till Wednesday to go in to work. I'm not sure if tomorrow (MLK Day) is a school holiday--or Inauguration Day--but I'm far enough ahead in the work that Wednesday or Thursday will be fine. The weather has warmed up and no showers are predicted for about a week. Can you say "yard work?" Church today was about Martin Luther King. The only thing missing was the so-called Negro National Anthem--"Lift Every Voice and Sing." But the presentation provoked some good discsussion points. This evening I guess I'll read something light while I watch another football game. If I fall asleep while watching--so what. There's no need for an alarm clock tomorrow.
