Today I decided that my car was long overdue for the car beauty shop.
First, however, I had to get unshelved groceries out of it, not to mention a bunch of other stuff. By the time I'd lugged bottles of soft drinks inside I was already getting tired. But Car is a Good Car, and deserves a beauty treament every now and then. There weren't many customers at the car wash, so it didn't take too long for the car to emerge--all shiny yellow, with unscuffed tire sidewalls, etc. Well worth the money. Since there are no longer (since Katrina) any coffee shops that I know about on that side of town I headed up to the PJ's near the mall. I started on a Catherine Coulter book, but I'm not sure I'm in the mood to finish it at this time. It's very well-written, but after the Lilith Saintcrow I'm not quite ready for another intense book. So far the protagonist has found a (probably sexually abused) child on a secluded mountain spot. And he's been shot at by a couple of baddies. Coulter writes well, but, as I said, I'm not really in the mood for this particular plotline at the moment. So I think I'll switch to a Michael and Katherine Gear book that's a fictionalized account of the development of Native American civilization in the MidWest. It's almost 600 pages long, but I'll get intellectually involved in it, rather emeotionally. (Does that makea sense?) Tomorrow I shall drive my beautifully clean and easy-to-steer car to work. (And home again in the afternoon.) ;) Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
