Except that the weather has changed!! I used the afghan last night, and woke up with a cat on me. Cats are really great for sharing heat.

I had just finished dumping the newspaper collection this afternoon when my cell phone rang. It was the dentist's office reminding me that I have an appointment tomorrow.

Good thing they called--somehow that one didn't get recorded in my date book. Usually I put appointments down right away. Maybe I didn't have the book with me six months ago. I'm about to start carrying the 2010-2011 book with me so I can keep sort of up to date.

So, I guess I won't go in to work tomorow. That's okay--Friday will be fine for that.

I did talk to the archivist at Xavier to find out just what type of materials they have there related to my subject. He seemed mildly interested when I told him how I was including every name in what would become the on-line listing.

I met this man a BUNCH of years ago when I was researching an African-American woman who had been prominent in New Orleans about 1900. He was able to give me a couple of hints on sources, but most of all he alerted me to a woman at Fisk who was compiling a book with bios of 500 Notable Black American Women. And my bio was accepted and published.

Other than that conversation, today's high point was dumping newspapers into the turtle pond.

I'm betting it's another cat-blanket night.
