I'm getting some pretty solid sleep in with the cooler weather and the and the cat-assisted sleeping. That big boy really knows how to cuddle!

I broke down and went to WalMart today for a new wheeled trash can to use with lawn/yard work. Shopping there on a Monday when there are no upcoming holidays is not bad at all. Tomorrow I hope to put it to use.

Our brief bit of cooler weather has eased up a bit--I wouldn't be thinking of yard work if it hadn't.

The local excitement level continues to rise. And the Who Dat issue continues to get interesting responses from not only New Orleanians but from friends of New Orleanians. Mention of it was made in a news clip from Miami regarding the Super Bowl.

And latest NFL idiocy: The idea of showing the Super Bowl on giant screen TVs in the Superdome was floated.

Guess who said No.

So I guess collective game-watching will be relegated to homes and businesses.

Weather is definitely warming up a bit--I had a window open for a while today. And I don't recall hearing the furnace cycle on at all. Yet.

One of my evening tasks will be to get started on a new book. I got six or seven books in the mail last week--one of those book club offers. I've read only one so far. It's all mysteries, and most are by familiar authors. These are (generally) not "heavy."

Maybe tomorrow I'll start moving some books from the floor to the newly vacated shelves formerly occupied by an encyclopedia.
