Went in to work today--no problems.

Driving home I realized my power steering wasn't very powerful, so when I got home I called the mechanic and he said "bring it over." This mechanic lives quite near me, so dropping me off at home is no big deal. Also, his shop is relatively near.

I left off my car, and he dropped me off on his way home.

And I got a ride in a Mercedes. It's one that apparently has intermittent problems, so he's using it for a couple of days to better analyze the problem. And there I was thinking that his business was doing REALLY well.

We agreed on the level of jackassery of our parish council representative, and of a few others that somehow got elected.

Obviously, I won't be going in to work tomorrow, and may not on Wedesday either. If I have some kind of emergency there is always Parish Cab.

In theory, I should be able to get all sorts of stuff done around the house and yard.

That's "in theory." Realistically speaking, it may well mean afternoon naps and getting lots of reading done.

Meanwhile, I am over 3/4 of the way through Mark of the Demon, and it's another good one. Hope I can stay awake long enough this evening to either finish it or get to a halfway decent stopping point.
