It's been threatening most of the day, and now it's happening.
Had a hard time "getting going" this morning, so the rain threat was a good excuse for hibernating a bit more. By afternoon it had cleared up more or less, so I did some grocery shopping. Not much--just the essentials I'd forgotten on the last trip (and a couple more things.) As I was heading home I realized I'd forgotten something vital called Cat Food so I swung by Walgreen's. Got the cat food and some other stuff and headed back home. As I came down the road I noticed a man and a boy staring into the ditch in front of my house, and poking a stick around. I pulled into my driveway, then asked them what they were watching. I figured it was a snake--plenty of them around. No--they thought it was an eel. I ended up lending them my cane to use as a long stick, and sure enough, it was an eel. It's now raining, so I'm sure the eel is happy. Open drainage, especially in a semi-rural area, leads to sightings of all sorts of things. I have very content house cats. And I didn't get much of the stuff done that I had planned to do this weekend. So what. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
