I don't think so. I caught a bit of a late afternoon TV clip and it didn't sound like anything was happening with the root problem.

However, Obama arrived late this morning and was met by Jindal (LA governor). I have great confidence in Jindal's mental abilities (except for his religious conservatism) and I think Obama is pretty sharp.

He came down the steps from the plane and made a beeline for Jindal, who was at the foot of the steps. Obama was in such a hurry he barely returned the traditional salute. Even though they are of different parties the current situation is critical to all party philosophies.

I took a brief break this afternoon and checked the Dollar General for shoes in the style I like at a very good price. They looked well made, but I would have had to have my toes amputated--the only sizes available were two or more less than I wear.

And now to see if the TV stations have some new news. (It's 5 PM CDT.)
