I've been busy much of today catching up with various stuff around the house, so I haven't heard too much about the oil spill.

Fortunately, one of the cable channels reruns the CBS channel's local news. I can watch it when I'm done here.

Most of the noon news covered the mayoral inauguration this morning.

It had its light moments--The one administering the oath of office did it the usual way--"repeat after me, etc."--and after he had finished the last phrase ("so help me God") he said "you may now kiss your wife." Who was, of course, standing next to him.

I missed the evening news because I was "dining" at Arby's while I read something called Eight for Eternity. I'd started it a while ago, then got involved with one thing or another, and decided it was high time I finished it. I expect I'll be up fairly late tonight.

Did I mention the wild cherry trees? I think so. The flowers are quite fragrant and when you walk down the driveway (which has tall bushes on either side) it smells lovely.

An IUD, but a pleasant one.
