Blah day, that is. I think it ranks below an IUD.
My pressure sore, which was feeling better yesterday, has regressed to three days ago. I see the doctor again on Wednesday. This is somewhat reminiscent of when Elvis bit me--and after I'd let him share my bed!! This was in 2005 or 2004. I had adopted a pair of gorgeous male cats from a woman who was downsizing from her house to a retirement place. Fabian and Elvis were her beloved cats, and at first she'd asked the vet to put them down. He didn't want to, and mentioned them to me. (At that point in time I was down to one cat myself.) They settled in, but then Elvis suddenly started looking "puny." I had Elvis on my lap, giving him a pill (if you've ever pilled cats, you know this involves poking it down the throat) when he had a spasm and his mouth closed tightly on the finger with the pill at the end of it. I managed to extricate my finger, observed regretfully that that had been a death spasm, then bagged him and stored him in the freezer. (what else would you do if you didn't have time to dig a hole?) A day or so later I was at the doctor with an infected finger. Shortly thereafter I ended up in the hospital for three days of IV antibiotics--standard treatment for deep cat bites.. All seemed okay, so I went off to Romania to join a group excavating a second or third century (Common Era) church. Near the end of the two weeks I noticed the finger starting to look a bit reddish again. Went to the doctor the next day, and he popped me in the hospital. More antibiotics, plus a surgical cleaning out of the wound. I ended up having IV antibiotics several times a week for what seemed like forever. When people asked what had happened I looked sorrowful and said "I let Elvis share my bed and he left me with an infection." I really hope this stupid little sore spot on the sitter-downer responds to the medications. I don't feel the least bit bad--except for when I'm sitting in certain positions. Enough of my trials and tribulations. But today was an IUD, as I already said. (And if you're interested in on-the-spot reports about the BP fiasco, use yesterday's link to Fox 8 news.)
