That's what it's doing at the moment.

It's a nice gentle rain, with (so far) no thunder. The cats are very happy to have the indoors to go to and are settling down for the evening.

This afternoon the whole raccoon family came for supper--Little Mama and all four of her children at once. She knows there's enough for everybody and scolds the youg-uns when they squabble over the same dish. It probably won't be too long before she chases them off.

Earlier my neighbor came over to mow my lawn. She happens to enjoy mowing lawns. She was really impressed by the Dome and the game last night.

Little did I figure that when I asked for aid in changing fluorescent bulbs in exchange for the tickets that they would value the tickets to include lawnmowing! It's nice to have really friendly neighbors.

So now the green things growing in the yard are all the same height.

Since I was up a "bit" late last night, I didn't really get going until right after lunch, when my neighbor appeared.

I've got the 49ers' game on at the moment--with Bret Favre currently playing quarterback. I've lost count of the number of times he has retired, then unretired the next year. He's from SW Mississippi--meaning close to us--so we get the news about him. Even though he's from Mississippi he gets treated almost like a "local boy" by the media.

I seem to recall that my coming week has two appointments in it. I'd better check my date book to find out when.

The rain noises have subsided--for the moment at least. My big boy cat is sprawled asleep next to me. He's learned not to get on the card table holding the computer, but he's within petting reach.

Hoping tomorrow is nice--at least for most of the day. If it rains in the morning we tend to be stuck with high humidity for the better part of that day.

Back to the 49ers.
